Sign up, then create an organization

  1. The person who will pay signs up with an email code and password, then signs in to the workspace.
  2. Open Organizations, enter a name under Organization, and select Create organization. Select it from the organization list.
  3. Personal users can use the API without creating an organization.

The account tied to billing when the organization is created remains its billing owner. Create it using the intended paying account.

Invite colleagues

  1. An owner or admin enters a colleague's email and role under Members, then selects Generate link.
  2. If SMTP and the public website URL are configured, select Send invitation email. If delivery fails, the link remains available; copy it and send it through a trusted channel.
  3. The colleague opens the link, signs up or signs in with the invited email, then selects Accept invitation.
  4. Refresh the organization page and confirm the member's email and role appear in the list.

The login email must match the invitation. A link lasts seven days and can be accepted once. Generate a new one if it expires. Never post it publicly.

Manage roles and membership

  1. Available roles are Owner, Admin, Member, and Billing viewer. Only an owner can invite another owner; Member is a sensible default for everyday work.
  2. Owners can change a member's role or remove them under Members. The billing owner cannot be removed there.
  3. Owners and admins can invite members and create projects. Members can view projects and keys; Billing viewers currently see only the organization summary.
  4. When someone leaves, have an owner remove them and revoke or replace affected keys as needed.

Roles control organization management. Key charges still come from the billing owner's personal balance.

Projects, keys, and charges

  1. Owners and admins can create projects to group work.
  2. The billing owner first creates a personal API key. Under Organization keys, choose that existing key's ID, optionally select a project, and save.
  3. Charges still come from the billing owner's personal balance. Check their Usage and Billing pages.
  4. The billing owner can revoke an organization key when it is no longer needed. This deletes the underlying key, so replace it in clients first if still in use.

Shared wallets, enforced monthly organization or member budgets, and full organization billing reports are not available yet.
